Cooking system is the bread and butter of the entire game. The RPG mechanics are entirely built around the cooking system. It serves as the main vehicle to drive the story, the quests and the characters. It is a unique extra layer added to the battle system, item system and quest system, it is also it's own game type in of itself.

Create recipe system
Recipe system will have steps that need to be completed for each recipe
There will be a stirring cooking step
There will be a baking cooking step
There will be a washing cooking step
There will be a tasting cooking step
There will be a plating cooking step, includes a "sauce drizzling" cooking step, and perhaps a wiping off dirt cooking step
There will be a cutting cooking step
There will be a kneeding cooking step
There will be a lighting the grill cooking step
There may be more steps (TBC)
Recipes will have metadata
Metadata contains which ingredient(s) are needed
Metadata will confirm whether the player yet knows the recipe
Metadata will confirm whether the player has necessary pre-requisites, e.g. has a spoon or something similar.
